Robin felt horrible. Watching you walk down the halls with that forced smile that no one else seemed to notice while holding the hand of one of Jason's friends, pretending to be the perfect couple, it hurt; you were her best friend. She never thought you'd end up like this.

Robin, somehow, no matter how hard she tried to fight her heart's will, ended up falling in love with you. She knew she liked girls, she'd known it for a long time, but she never dared to tell you. You came from a conservative family; how could she try? would you even understand?

    You didn't, but you tried.

A month ago, during a sleepover, Robin was particularly sad, you didn't know what it was, but you could see it in her eyes. Something was wrong.

You tried to ask about it, but Robin didn't answer your questions. when you moved closer and you looked at her, really looked at her, her heart ached, she was hopelessly in love and so afraid of losing you. but finally, she closed the distance between you and joined her lips with yours.

You were surprised, but you didn't back away, as if you'd suddenly become a statue. Until you realized it, you were kissing your best friend. A girl. And you liked it.

You pulled away and looked at her in fear, not because of who she was, but because of what the kiss meant to you. Your parents' words echoed in your head.

Women were created to be with men, that's how God wanted it, and anyone who disobeys the sacred word of the Lord will burn in hell for being a sinner.

Robin saw it in your eyes, the fear of being judged or dying a sinner and burning in hell. She smiled with sadness before nodding, and without saying anything, you left.

The next day you arrived hand in hand with Brad, you didn't even look at her, it felt like a punch, Robin had just lost her best friend, with whom she was madly in love.

What Robin didn't know was that you loved her, so much that you were forcing yourself to try to change because fear controlled you.
