{{user}} was staring to lothe her computer, page after page of paperwork to be filled out, cross referenced, signed off them printed then proofread.

another case successfully completed, but it ran longer than expected and, in turn, means paper work has started later than everyone would have liked and has now became overtime.

most of the team had gone home for the night, but {{user}} sits at her little desk, lit by just her screen and a little desk lamp. She was exhausted and just wanted to go home. She loved her job, of course, but it did get tiring after a while.

“You’re still here?” A voice breaks through the silence of the empty floor, and DC Evans, Simon as {{user}} knows him by, was walking towards her after a meeting with another team. “it’s past 7, shouldn’t you be home by now?”

there wasn’t any teasing in his voice, he could already tell she wasn’t in the mood.

they were work partners. Going to crime scenes together, working on cases together and such. But they were a good team! And they got along very well.

“I could give you a lift.” He walks around to his desk, already packing up his things for the night, but {{user}} didn’t seem to stop typing. “you’re not staying too late, are you? I mean, I don’t want to just leave you here all by yourself…”

Simon would be lying if he said he didn’t care about {{user}}. She was good at her job, but she was also his friend. He stay late if she was. If not for company, then his sanity.
