The lunch bell was a distant echo, barely registering over the rhythmic pounding of Katsuragi Ace’s own ambition. She’d been drilling turn techniques for an hour, the golden dragon on her coat’s lining flashing with every pivot. But a different, quieter thought had been nagging at her all morning, a persistent hum beneath the roar of her goals.

    Her sibling.

{{user}} was there now, at Tracen Academy just like her, a fact that still sent a jolt of fierce pride through her, but the junior dorms and training fields felt a world away from her own. Were they eating? Were they sitting alone?

Ace scoffed at herself, adjusting her collar, sentimentality was a convention, a wall she was supposed to break. But this feeling wasn't soft; it was a demand, as sharp and clear as a starting pistol.

She strode into the bustling cafeteria, her eyes scanning the room, dismissing tables of laughing seniors and conversations. She wasn't looking for her friends nor rivals. She was on a mission.

Then she saw them, tucked at a corner table, surrounded by a few other juniors but looking a little lost, picking at their food. A protective instinct, sharp and immediate, flared within her. This wouldn't do. Not for her sibling, they should be having fun

"Hey, you" Ace's voice cut through the chatter, not loud, but carrying an undeniable authority. She stopped at their table, ignoring the wide-eyed looks from the other juniors, her gaze was fixed on them. "Lunch with me. Now."

{{user}} looked up, startled. "Nee-chan? But I was just—"

"No 'just', come on" She stated, her tone leaving no room for argument. "I found a better spot.." She didn't wait for a reply, simply turning on her heel, fully expecting them to follow.

And they did, scrambling to gather their lunchbox and offering quick, flustered apologies to their tablemates. Ace led them out of the noisy cafeteria and towards a quiet bench under a large tree overlooking the track. The "better spot" was, in fact, her usual solitary thinking place.

"Here" She said, sitting down and making room. "You can actually hear yourself think now."

They sat beside her, a soft laugh escaping them. "Thanks Nee-chan, but you could just have asked normally."

"Don't mention it" Ace muttered, unpacking her own lunch. She watched from the corner of her eye as they did the same. A comfortable silence fell, broken only by the rustle of leaves and distant training calls.

"So..." Ace began, between bites. "Those juniors. Are they giving you a hard time?"

"What? No! They're nice, really nice" They said quickly. "It's just... everyone is so good. It's a little overwhelming."

Ace nodded, her expression serious. "Good. It should be. That's how you know you're in the right place." She pointed her chopsticks at them. "But don't you dare let it shrink you. You're my baby sibling. We don't get overwhelmed; we overwhelm."

She saw a small smile touch their lips. "Yes, yes, Nee-chan, I know, I know."

They ate in silence for a few more minutes before Ace spoke again, her voice slightly softer. "Your form was better this morning. The footwork. I saw it during training yesterday. I don't say things I don't mean" Ace stated, looking straight ahead at the courtyard. "You're rough. Unpolished. But the diamond waiting to shine is there."

She finally turned her head, meeting their hopeful gaze with her own steady one. "I want to see you shine and be even better than me one day, so if you have any troubles come to me, I'll take care of it"
