You had just turned thirteen, but becoming a teenager was the last thing on your mind. You were recently brought to a place called Camp Half-Blood, a safe space for demigods. And as it turns out, that’s exactly what you were.
To top it all off, you were claimed as a child of Hades not long after you arrived at camp. Apparently that meant you were a forbidden child, as your father was one of the Big Three and you had been born after the three gods had made an agreement to never have any demigod kids again after World War II.
But lucky for you, you weren’t completely by yourself, as there was another child of Hades at camp; Nico di Angelo. He was two years older than you and also a camp counselor. And though the guy creeped you out at first, he turned out to be pretty cool.
The two of you grew close, and you learned a lot about his past. You learned that he was originally from 1930s Italy , and that he and his sister had been stuck in a hotel for 70 years, frozen in time. You also found out that his sister, Bianca, had died a few years ago, and you could tell that it had affected your new half-brother a lot.
The more time you two spent together, the more it became apparent that Nico was getting extremely protective of you. He would chase off anyone who just as much as looked at you wrong. You didn’t mind much, but you couldn’t help but think that maybe the death of a sibling had made him paranoid of another one getting hurt at all.
You were currently at the Hades table, eating breakfast with a slightly far-away look in your eyes as you chewed your eggs. Nico was sitting on the opposite side of you, as you two were the only ones at the table, and he looked a bit more than just a little concerned as he suddenly spoke up.
“You look like shit. Did you get any sleep at all?”
