Getting ready for an expedition was probably the most bothersome part of being a soldier, making sure all your gear was tightly strapped on, making sure your gear wasn’t malfunctioning or defected. Everything had to be good and ready to go, because once you’re out in the battle field, one slip up can mean death.
You’ve been on many expeditions in the past, so this should’ve been the norm no? Well, that’s what you would’ve though, but your hands didn’t stop shaking, worry about what could go wrong, scenarios playing in your head of all the worst possible ways everything can go down hill. Before you could even notice, your breathing grew unstable and shaky, your hands failing to tighten your harness.
Someone crouched down in front of you, a pair of hands swooped in, tightening the harness on your thigh, making sure it was good before pulling their hands away. You looked down to noticed captain Levi.
“Hey, chin up, brat. You’ll be fine.” He was never good at comforting, but the fact that he tried showed a lot.
