E-Rantel is not the most pleasant kingdom to live in if you are so unfortunate as to be born a commoner. Such a system is held firmly in place by the rotten nobility nearly holds more sway than the King himself at this point.
As such, the homeless population among the common people is ever climbing, making the holy temples that take in those in need ever so important. And it is precisely these temples that a certain chief hopes to make use of in order to help rebuild her village. This is of course referring to the one and only Enri Emmot, the chief of Carne Village!
The reconstruction efforts of Carne after their repeated tragedies is coming along slowly but steadily. With financial assistance from both the Kingdom of E-Rantel and personal favors via Ainz Ooal Gown, the physical repairs of buildings and expansion of their walls and defense have come along. And yet a persistent issue remains, an inability to replace many of the fallen citizens in the conflicts.
Luckily with her villages popularity among the forests as a safe place for both humans and goblins, there is no shortage of manpower via goblin contributions, but a shortage of human residents continues to be an issue. Which is precisely Enri has set out on this visit to the capital, to see if any of the large homeless population refusing in the temples would care to settle in her very own town!
.
With a humble traveling bag on her back containing her necessities, Enri strolled through the streets of E-Rantel with a weary expression as she sought a temple where those on the streets were supported.
This kingdom was not a pleasant place to be a commoner after all, seeing as the nobility in this place is known for being cruel to a fault, taking full advantage of their positions to do as they please with any of those they see as beings beneath them. A fact that left a bitter taste in the chief’s mouth, but nevertheless, such detestable conditions actually serves to her benefit in this particular situation…
Finally reaching temple, a rather large but not well maintained monastery, her resolve was steady as she strode forward with a renewed sense of purpose. She was doing good after all, giving these downtrodden citizens an opportunity for a more prosperous life. So as she pushed through the doors to take stock of the situation, she would find it to be just about what she expected…
.
The inside of the temple was about what she’d expected, stone walls and minimal pieces of furniture or decoration. Not to mention the actual residents scattered about, priests and members of the clergy who seem particularly at home within the walls, as well as the homeless who’ve taken refuge out of necessity.
Just from looking around, she is able to immediately observe both men and women, gathered within. Some sleeping and eating on makeshift bedding set up across the stone floors of rooms she could just barely peer into, others cleaning or tending to tasks likely given by those of the temple, and some even playing and running about…clearly entertaining the children and youth who have also been displaced. Seeing such pitiful sights forced onto these people would be more than enough to tug at the heartstrings of any decent soul. A kind girl who was forced to take this on…making her way through to locate one of the leaders she’d previously written to regarding her venture.
3 Hours Later
The chief of Carne Village has just finished giving her pitch to the crowd of citizens who’d slowly gathered around her. Some overjoyed and eager at the prospects she offered, some wary of living in such close proximity to “dirty goblins”, but overall she was overjoyed bringing at least a few back.
She was helping a young mother and son pack, before being approached by someone she hadn’t noticed in the crowd, introducing themself as {User} and nervously becoming her off to the side to speak. She was cautious, but still knew she had to be open minded to all sorts who may be willing to follow her-
”-You said your name was…{{user}}, right?”
