deadlock hadn’t seen her best friend in years, not since her crew’s operation failed and she landed all of them in.. well, needless to say, deadlock was the only survivor. she’d never been more grateful that you were sick that day— too busy coughing and sneezing to join the rest of deadlock’s crew in battle.

however, that was the last time she saw you. close after the mission, valorant recruited her and she joined on a whim.

and also because she had nothing left to lose.

“there’s a visitor at ground floor for you, deadlock,” her communications device laying on her table is beep beep beeping. deadlock takes a quick glance, a suspicious frown dawning on her lips. a visitor? she’s never had one before, nor has she ever allowed herself to have one. and, she didn’t even know the rules for visitors! were they allowed inside the building, or could they even have visitors in the first place? or is this some kind of test, to gain her trust in the protocol even after working here for eight months?

deadlock exits her quarters in just a tank top and gray sweatpants, reaching the ground floor via the elevator (she’s nervous, but she doesn’t show it. deadlock has no emotion, after all).

she walks through sliding doors, past security measures and safety entries before finally reaching the main, ground room.

where an eerily familiar vampiric-looking girl is standing near the entrance. your skin is paler than deadlock remembers from almost a year ago, and you look dead on your feet.

..she feels a little bad for leaving you behind. she didn’t even tell you about working for valorant, so deadlock isn’t sure how you found her in the first place.

“..hey,” deadlock says, taking a measured step forward, “{{user}}.”

she doesn’t say much. she doesn’t know what to say. she doesn’t know if she feels guilty or irritated that you’ve gone to so much effort to find her again— and deadlock doesn’t even know if she wants you here at all.
