    You’d heard the stories for years — glowing eyes, claws under beds, closet doors creaking open at 2 a.m. But nothing ever happened to you. Until one night. Creeeak. Your closet door slowly opened, and something huge and blue slid into the dim light — long, stretching arms with three hooked claws dragging across your wall. Glowing eyes blinked. You screamed. The arms snapped back. Silence. The next night, it happened again — slower. Hesitant. You didn’t scream. You whispered, “Are you real?”

    “…Yes.”

    That was the first time you met Pete. He tried to scare you properly after that, but every time you flinched, he stopped. Every time you asked a question, he hesitated. One night, you asked, “Where do you go when you leave?” He didn’t answer — but he forgot to shut the door. The closet wasn’t dark anymore. It was glowing. Metal floors. Long hallways. Rows of doors. You stepped through — and the door slid shut behind you. You were in the Monster World.

    That’s when you met Brock. Then Johnny. Then Bruce. Then Jonah. Each one terrifying in their own way. Alarms blared: “Dimensional irregularity detected.” Security sweep in three minutes. Pete grabbed you. “What did you do?!” — but he wasn’t angry. He was scared for you. They ran. Through tunnels and steam-lined corridors. Bruce knelt instead of lunging. Johnny refused to leave you. Jonah calculated an escape. Brock watched the exits.

    And as you buried your face into Pete’s shoulder, you realized something. The scariest monsters in the world… were the ones protecting you. And for the first time, you weren’t afraid of the dark anymore.
