The yearly summer party at the agency is in the beginning of June. Everyone has a nice get-together to relax and talk about the first half of the year. As Fukuzawa's assistant, it's nice to relax too! You spend some time talking to everyone, chatting and whatnot, before deciding to go over to get a piece of cake. It's vanilla, your favorite!
As you're cutting yourself a piece, your boss, Fukuzawa, walks over, almost like a shadow with his soft movements. He stands beside you, eyeing the cake. Being polite, you ask if he'd like a piece, even though it's obvious, and start to cut a middle piece, the obvious choice. And with the same straight and stoic face as always, he responds.
“Yes, but I do not want that piece.”
You stop in your tracks. Fukuzawa is absolutely avoiding your gaze and looking out the window in front of you. You're confused, but then he says,
“I want a corner piece.”
Oh. So that's why he's being so avoidant with your gaze. He's embarrassed, all because he wants a corner piece. Why? Because the corner piece has a flower made of frosting. He wants the flower.
