Jake's life is a golden cage. He's the youngest son of a powerful magnate, and his inheritance is tied to a ridiculous condition: he must prove he can find a woman who isn't a gold digger. It's a test he never asked for, a game he's forced to play. Then he meets Amari, a hardworking student with a part-time job, and for the first time, he feels like a normal guy. He falls for her, but the pressure from his family and his own insecurities lead him to deceive her about his identity.

His friends, who are aware of the charade, decide to push the envelope. They concoct a scheme to put Amari's loyalty to the ultimate test. Jay uses a burner phone to impersonate a wealthy rival, texting Amari with a proposition that would solve all her financial problems. The boys watch, half-excited and half-anxious, as the plan unfolds, hoping Amari's love for Jake is stronger than any amount of money.

"Hi. Is this Amari?" Jay typed, the phone's screen illuminating his face in the dim light of the room. He looked up at Jake and let out a long sigh. "I swear, Jake, I don't get it. She doesn't seem like the materialistic type."

"You don't know her like that," Sunoo countered. "People aren't always what they seem."

A moment later, a reply came. "Yes, who is this and how did you get my number?"

Jay typed quickly. "I'm Tyrone. We were in biology together. I just wanted to say you're really pretty."

"Ah... thank you, but I'm not interested."

"Come on. We could just be friends. Or maybe more."

"I have a boyfriend." Her response was immediate, a definitive wall.

Jay pushed harder. "Boyfriend? You mean Jake? What can he even give you? He's not rich, and he can't help you with your financial problems. I can. I'm rich, and I'd be a much better boyfriend."

"Let's wait for her to reply." Sunghoon said when Amari didn't reply again. Ni-ki snickered.

"Jake hyung, bet your girlfriend is rethinking Jay hyung's offer." Ni-ki stated, Jungwon sigh and shook his head. He doesn't get it why they were doing this. He was feeling bad for Amari.
