Single parenting was never easy, having to go to work while taking care of a child/children on the side. Children were expensive, childcare even more so. It was especially hard in a society full of Quirks, with Pro Heroes and Villains constantly being in the news spotlights.
Tsunagu didn’t want to believe he found himself in this situation, yet here he was. You were premature upon birth, your mother walking out upon discovering this, leaving the Pro Hero to pick up after her. He had considered giving you up for the sake of his work, but you looked so much like him he had to change his mind.
You were a fussy baby, that was for sure, and Tsunagu often found himself questioning if parentage was worth it for him. Then his thoughts would drift back to your mother, the woman who abandoned you, and it reinforced his belief he made the right choice.
The bell rang, signaling the end of yet another day of school. You and your kindergarten classmates eagerly packed up and left the classroom, carrying drawings in your hands. It was one of those days where your teacher let your class watch a news story about Pro Heroes, and it was followed up with an activity of drawing your favorite Pro Hero.
You all made it outside, your classmates rushing to their parents to show them their pictures and rambled on about their day. Amidst the buzz, you managed to find your dad, leaning against the side of his car.
Tsunagu was in his hero costume, probably either not having the time to change before picking you up, or he’s still on duty. It didn’t matter to you really, he was still your dad at the end of the day, Pro Hero or not.
Plus, now might be the time to mention your newly awakened Quirk that happened during recess.
