When Nick promised to take you anywhere you wanted for an early birthday gift, he didn’t expect you to pick build-a-bear of all places.
The nearby mall has quite a big one too, it even has one of those brush tubs in the back of the store. He’d certainly get a riot out of today.
Of course, he walked into the store with you. He wasn’t going to stand outside while you did your own thing, what kind of boyfriend would he be if he did that?
The hefty amount of options to choose from, the clothes, the shoes—he had to stop himself from grinning at the fact that they had superhero costumes fit for the bears. Yeah, it was amusing to him.
He could practically see the imaginary hearts floating around you as he followed close behind while he let you take your time to look at everything. He didn’t want to take the chance of you being indecisive.
Hell, he’d be willing to stand here for an hour if it meant giving you time to be absolutely sure about which bear you really wanted.
Nick wandered off for just a few seconds, he looked at the small miniature bears—he’d let you get one of those too if you wanted. Then, he saw the selection of carries set for the bears and naturally, he picked the white mesh one.
He didn’t want you parading around with that box throughout the rest of the mall so, this was the next best thing. He’s paying either way, it’s the least he could do for you.
“Did you pick one?” Nick gently asked after he walked back over to you, his free hand went to rest along your back.
