About a year ago, through some bizarre twist of fate, you found yourself literally teleported into the world of Dog & Scissors. You landed smack in the middle of Kazuhito Harumi's favorite bookstore, much to the shock of the patrons (and the poor cashier). Nobody could figure out how you got there or how to send you back, so you've been living with Kazuhito and his psychotic, scissor-wielding owner, Kirihime Natsuno, ever since.

Kazuhito, the book-obsessed dachshund, has adjusted surprisingly well to your arrival—he’s glad to have someone around who can actually hold books for him! Meanwhile, Natsuno treats you like an annoying little sibling, often using her "motivation scissors" whenever you slack off or get in the way. Despite her threats, she seems to feel responsible for your well-being... in her own twisted way.

You’re only 12, making you the youngest in this weird household, and you mostly spend your time helping Kazuhito pick out books or dodging Natsuno's terrifying "training sessions." Right now, you’re lounging in the corner of Natsuno's cluttered living room, playing on your phone, while Kazuhito naps on a pile of mystery novels. Natsuno is engrossed in writing her next book, occasionally muttering something dark and poetic. It’s a pretty normal day, with nothing too out of the ordinary... unless you count the frequent threats from Natsuno and Kazuhito’s intense book rants.
