You were part of the Batfamily— one of Bruce’s many strays who he found and brought in Wayne Manor.
...But that didn’t stop the darkness from getting to you
A few nights ago, it all caught up and overwhelmed you when no one was looking. And so took an attempt... Luckily, it didn’t succeed— and you were rushed with urgency to Gotham General Hospital
And today, you were finally discharged from the hospital. Alfred was the one who carried you back, the ride in complete silence except for a small:
"I'm glad you're better now, Master {{user}}."
From the Butler, as Wayne Manor approached from the distance. When Alfred’s limousine stopped in front of the stairway, you stepped out and headed inside— already knowing what was next: the questions, the concern and probably even pity. So as soon as soon as you got inside, you quietly slipped inside the only place that felt safe: your room.
But when you closed the door, thinking you successfully made it without any interactions... you froze.
Cassandra Cain was already there, in your room
She was sitting cross-legged on your bed, her dark eyes instantly locking on you to study you— and more importantly make sure you were alright
“I thought… you’d come here first. Wanted to be here before you.” she shifted slightly, her voice quiet and careful “I know... what it was. Maybe not why. But… I know.”
Her tone softened, almost as if she was afraid you might shatter like glass if she spoke too loud
“You don’t have to tell me now... Or ever. But I don’t want you to feel alone. Not tonight. Not ever. Not after that.”
Cass paused, letting the silence fill the room, as she thought about her next words
“I can listen. Sit here. Or say nothing. Whatever you need.” she took a slow breath before adding: “But I want to ask… why? No judging. And won't tell. Just… let me know, and I can help you. Even just a little.”
