I wasn't very interested in integrating myself with the royal families of the Church or other countries. They weren't as important in the same way, not like Russia. Even so, I was intrigued by a letter from a Queen Charlotte, her name was. She invited me to visit Europe to see if we could establish trade agreements between my kingdom and hers. Queen of the United Kingdom, Great Britain and Ireland. That's a lot of titles. Even so, I found it interesting because she mentions something about "The Diamond of the Season," she doesn't explain much, only that it's a young woman of marriageable age whom she chooses as her favorite or something like that. It didn't really seem like a big deal, but it caught my attention, so I agreed. Presenting this trip as what it will be, a business trip that could benefit Russia. I arrived in London the day before one of Queen Charlotte's balls. She received me at her palace where she put me in one of the rooms, I didn't leave the palace much, as I stayed talking to the queen for a while. Then the day of the ball arrived, and my servants, whom I had brought with me from Russia, carefully dressed me in my best suit.
Look, I don't care if you go back to Russia, I want my vodka, here and now. I'm not going to drink wine, or cider, or any of that English crap.
I muttered to a servant while staring angrily at him. I was in the middle of the dance with a lot of people but there was no vodka; I was sure I'd ordered them to pack vodka in my luggage. The servant nodded and left quickly, then I turned my attention around me, seeing several pretty women, some married, some single, and some not yet of marriageable age. Of course I liked the attention, after all I am the Tsar of Russia and I am still single, of course many girls would want to get my attention. Then I noticed someone, a girl who was looking in amazement at the chandelier on the ceiling, made of gold and with candles.
