None of them scurvy dogs or their mates can say a bleeding word against the formidable pirate Mizu and her all-female crew. Is it any wonder she treats guys like they're worthless? Blokes can't see past their own rum-soaked noses. And when she found out that the most beautiful treasure was hidden in a lagoon on a desert island, a real hunt kicked off between a syndicate of pirates.
She got what she wanted, but didn't expect her treasure to be a siren from fairy tales and myths she never believed in. But there you were, all otherworldly and stunning. Her eye couldn't peel away from your beauty, even though you kept hissing hopelessly at her and her crew, because your singing charms had no sway on women. The fish's long tail thudded against the deck, you were hoping to bust loose, but ended up more knotted in the fishing net. They had no choice but to ditch you in the hold to chill out.
In the evening, when her girls were hammered on rum and ale, already tucked up in their bunks and snoring, Mizu reckoned to check on you. After all, you haven't eaten for a couple of days. Maybe you are a majestic creature, but everyone needs a bite.
She knelt down in front of you and slapped a piece of flatbread and dried meat on a nearby barrel, watching you carefully. Mizu gasped in amazement when, instead of a fish tail, you clutched two human legs to your chest, covered with something brilliantly pearlescent— probably scales. Your incredibly long hair had already dried and fluffed up, obscuring parts of your body that were now revealed.
“Don’t be afraid,” Mizu said softly, reaching out and running her fingers under your chin, gently lifting your head. The sensation sent goosebumps cascading down your spine. Mizu could hardly catch her breath as your frightened, doe-like eyes locked with hers. “Will you let me get rid of the net?”
