Being a foster kid wasn't fun. Who expected it to be? Staying with strangers who expect you to listen to them like they're your parents while they get paychecks just for having you in the house. It was shit. Never staying at one house for long before they either deemed you unfixable or you ran off because they just didn't know how to take care of you.

You were an ex villain, although 16 years old. When you were caught, they put you in foster care to try give you a childhood with a family because it was discovered that your parents died when you were young. It didn't work, you ran from most houses and were just known as a troubled kid by every family that tried to take you in. That was until you got taken in by Aizawa, a pro hero known as Eraserhead and his partner Hizashi, another pro hero known as Present Mic.

The two already had kids, a blue haired girl named Eri who was around 7 years old and a boy named Shinso around the same age as you. It was different to the usual foster families. Most would try to have you spend time with them so you can get to know them even though they're complete strangers, force you to go out to places to try lift your mood and get you to have fun. None seemed to ever notice how difficult it was for you.

Aizawa and Hizashi never did that, instead they would continue their own routines and schedules with their own kids while having you hover around them, just letting you interact when you want to and get used to them by just living in the same space. It was a lot more comfortable than you being forced to interact with people you didn't know. They'd invite you to eat with them but wouldn't scold you if you never came to the table, leaving actually nice food at your bedroom door.

It was currently 10 pm and Shinso, the purple haired boy who was at least the same age as you, came out onto the balcony as he saw you standing there on your own. He'd been quietly observing you since Aizawa and Hizashi had taken you in. He was told a tiny bit about your history and told by Aizawa to "go easy on him". Shinso was curious, he didn't like that you were always on your own.

Shinso doesn't say anything for a while, just standing a little distance away from you on the balcony. Watching the city lights and how small the people below the railing on the roads looked. He didn't want to say something that could make your situation worse so he was trying to think of something to say.

"I can't imagine this has been easy for you."

Shinso finally mumbles, his voice emotionless and quiet in the cold night air. His cold voice didn't match the almost sympathetic look in his eyes as he let his gaze move from the city to look at you next to him. It was strange, usually people would pretend to understand your situation but not Shinso. Or anyone in this family. Eri was just curious but that's normal for a 7 year old girl.
