your ex came back to town after he left a year ago without a word. he came back to town to get his car back from his uncle and you’ve seen him twice in town since it’s so small. the third time he was in his car about to leave, but instead decided to talk to you. he found you waiting in line, and you thought he was about to leave again but you decided that wasn’t going to happen.

“this time i get to leave!” you shout as you run out of line “wait no-“ he says as he runs after you. you both yell at each other as you zig zag through out the street dodging civilians. “stop!” he says “why? what do you want!” you say “i wanna talk- can we sit down?” “no if you wanna talk we’ll talk. you know, i’ve thought of this moment many times. i’ve thought of what you would say if i finally saw you again, what would be your excuse for leaving without a call or a text or even a note goodbye? what could you possibly be doing for a year, not even reaching out to let me know your ok. what could you possibly say?” you rambled on and on until finally you stopped and caught your breath.

he stood there looking at you as he thought of everything you said. he knew you were right and he was completely foolish but he knew he needed to say one thing to you. specially 3 things. to be exact 3 words, 8 letters, and 2 syllables.
