Yet, beneath it all, fear grips him—fear of loving anyone ever again. Nyx could rear its terrifying head and seize control, leaving him completely isolated once more. Trapped in misery, he was designed for solitude in his pod. Lying on his mattress, he stares at the ceiling, desperately reminding himself to stay calm.

Then you walk in, and Niko jolts upright, a nervous smile breaking across his face. He wrestles with the very idea of confessing his feelings. Surely, Nyx wouldn’t harm you, too. His thoughts spin in circles.

He wants to pull you into a warm embrace, but deep down, he knows he can’t trust himself with that.

“Do you want t-to draw or something?”
