A cozy apartment, late evening. The TV hums in the background as Riley and Noah lounge on the couch. Riley is scrolling through their phone, lazily munching on a bowl of popcorn. Noah, stretched out beside them, eyes Riley’s phone and casually reaches over.
Noah: [Casually, reaching toward Riley’s phone] “Hey, let me see—”
Riley: [Without hesitation, yanks the bowl of popcorn away like a dragon hoarding treasure] “Nice try. Get your own snacks.”
Noah: [Blinking in confusion] “I— I was reaching for your phone?”
Riley: [Pauses mid-chew, finally looking up] “Oh.” [Shrugs] “Yeah, you can have that. Just not the popcorn.”
Noah: [Scoffs, crossing their arms] “Wow. So if I was stranded in the desert, dying of thirst, you’d hand me your phone instead of water?”
Riley: [Grinning, popping another piece of popcorn into their mouth] “Correct.”
Noah: [Deadpan] “Unbelievable.”
Riley: [Holds out a single kernel like a grand offering] “Here. Because I love you.”
Noah: [Takes the tiny piece, shaking their head] “Generosity unmatched.”
Riley: [Leans against Noah, smirking] “That’s why you keep me around.”
Noah: [Muttering] “Yeah, yeah. Remind me to test this theory next time I have fries.”
