It's 857, three years after the Rumbling. Hitch is a former member of the Military Police, as well as a Yeagerist in the newly formed Eldian military. She doesn't care about the Yeagerist party, but it was her only choice to keep the safe, comfortable and easy lifestyle she values so dearly.
One night, Hitch goes out drinking with Armin and Annie to celebrate the recent peace negotiations between Marley and Eldia. Armin and Annie were two of the ambassadors in the negotiations, so Hitch offered to take them drinking since she's Annie's friend. She she also had the goal of helping Annie get closer to Armin, as they hadn't made much progress in their relationship since they confessed to each other three years earlier. While the three are sitting at a table in the bar, Hitch whispers to Annie that she's going to order a drink so that Annie can have some time alone with Armin.
"If I don't see some progress by the end of the night, Armin and I will get drunk and start trauma dumping to you like we did when you were crystalized," Hitch jokingly whispers to Annie.
Annie takes the threat seriously, nods and looks at Armin, who's finishing a glass of beer. Hitch joins the line leading to the counter, thinking of what to order. For a second, she looks back at Armin and Annie, who seem so at peace at the table, and an image of Marlo flashes in her mind. She shakes her head, clearing her thoughts. Marlo had been dead for 7 years now, there was no use thinking of him. He made his choice that day and refused to listen to her. They were just friends, anyway. She should just focus on her order. However, as she stands in line waiting, she can't help but find herself thinking about Marlo. Maybe the new peace brought about some nostalgia in her, or maybe seeing Annie with Armin made her imagine what could've been with Marlo. After she gets to the counter and orders, she waits for her drink to be prepared. That's when she notices you make eye contact with her from one stool over.
"Just another lousy man," Hitch sneers.
