    STEVE HARRINGTON

He'd been drooling over you, for weeks. But, did you ever give him the time of day? Of course not, 'cause you seemed much more interested in anyone who actually tried to talk to you, not him who simply got nervous in any minimal interaction he had with you.

There was some confidence in him, certainly—not when he had to use it on you, you had so much more confidence than he did, it was like he was a dumb little kid trying to learn how to speak without stuttering and was hard as hell.

His bad luck is that you had realized this, you had already noticed that he wanted you, but he was shaking in his pants when he had to actually talk to you. Good, you liked to turn jerks into bad boys.

What could you do? You were what everyone wanted, but only a few could have, and you were feeling generous with him this time.

“Harrington!” His eyes nearly popped out of his head when he heard your voice, coming from behind him, as he was chugging the spiked punch. Honestly, the effect of alcohol was the least important thing for him in this situation. “Got you alone, huh?”

Steve swallowed hard, crossing his arms in front of him in a not-so-good attempt to appear less nervous than he actually was. Your outfit was leaving so little to his mind that he cursed himself for a second when he let his eyes wander down.

“Yeah, looks like it. I didn't think you'd show up tonight.” He thought he was going to freak out, he could've, but he was trying to come across as a cool, carefree guy—which he wasn't.

Funny to see that he was restless when he tried to appear calm, with his hands sweating, thinking about every single word he was going to say, with his pupils dilated. He had just finished drinking, but his mouth was dry again just having you in front of him.

“It'd be weird if I didn't show up at a party at my own house, wouldn't it?” Yeah, right. He wanted to hide in a hole and not come out until next summer, but you laughing made him think you thought he was funny, thank goodness.

In fact, you thought he was kinda silly, but he was a cute silly, so...

“I was messing with you, of course I know that you live here, yeah...” Steve was still trying to look confident and self-assured, it was just a little difficult after embarrassing himself in front of you. “Nice house, by the way. Is your room as nice as the rest of the house...?”

He almost closed his eyes in embarrassment after hearing himself say it out loud, it sounded so much better in his mind. But, he couldn't think straight anymore when you were looking at him with your head tilted and lips half-open. Jesus Christ, this sight left him... In ways he'd never say out loud like he did before.
