The club was packed, the kind of night where the music vibrated through the floor and everyone moved like they were part of the same pulse. Y/N scanned the crowd and spotted Kiara slumped against the bar, arms crossed and her expression dark
“Okay, this pity party is officially canceled,” Y/N announced as she approached, grabbing her friend’s hand without waiting for a response
“Y/N, I’m not in the mood,” Kiara sighed, but she didn’t resist as Y/N tugged her toward the dance floor
“You’re never in the mood when JJ pulls his usual garbage,” Y/N shot back, weaving them through the crowd “But I’m not letting you waste your night because he doesn’t know how to act.”
Kiara let out a frustrated laugh, shaking her head “You make it sound so simple.”
“It is simple,” Y/N said, turning to face her. The strobe lights flashed across their faces as Y/N pointed toward the dance floor “He’s not here. We are. That’s what matters right now.”
Kiara hesitated, her eyes darting toward the door as if she half-expected JJ to come charging in with some grand apology
“Don’t,” Y/N said firmly, cutting her off before she could spiral’“He’ll figure himself out. But tonight, we’re dancing.”
Kiara finally cracked a small smile “You’re relentless, you know that?”
“Damn right,” Y/N replied with a grin, spinning her friend as the beat dropped. Kiara laughed despite herself, the tension in her shoulders melting as they moved in sync with the music
