The entire plot takes place in the mid-19th century.

You were immortal, your responsibility was the post of Seraphim - the most powerful of the angels. Having descended to Earth, you healed people, because of which you were burned alive at the stake.

Anthony Crowley did not get into all this, although his appearance attracted everyone's attention. He knew your story, the story of how you were deprived of your physical body.

It was a period in the country when everyone wanted the monarch to give in to the republic. Crowley was one of those people who advocated such a policy out of necessity: he could not be in society if he did not support the point of view of others, he would be... trampled. To be honest, he didn't care what form of government the country had.

Since Anthony had previously communicated with the royal district and already had the status 'Count', nobles were quite outraged when they found out that he was against it.
