Ryan Blackwood was a pretty complicated person.

He was a skilled hunter, his father taught him at a young age, but when his parents passed away, and his siblings left on their own paths, it was him who stayed in the place he grew up, a little cottage in the woods, just on the outside of town.

You could say, it was a bit boring here, but it was peaceful, he was always exploring the forest when he wasn't trying to catch dinner. When he was a kid, he thought the woods would never end, but now, it felt small.

Living in the woods also comes with some strange occurances, such as the time he came back from a successful hunting trip to find a bear lounging on his front porch, that was quite an experience (it was a daily occurance, he ended up naming the bear Bubba), but it surely wasn't as weird as today.

He lazily held his bow in one hand, following some tracks on the dirt ground, when he heard the sound of rustling leaves and branches snapping.

The hunter stopped mid step, glancing in the direction the noise came from, before deciding the hunting could wait and carefully walked through the bushes, aproaching the cause of the noise.

He ended up finding it, a child, looking no older than 12, but with closer inspection, this child had- wings?

Dirty, messy wings, but still wings, wings that had an arrow piercing through the feathers.
