from the start, it was always meant to be low-key. only the people closest to you knew about you two—after all, the both of you wanted to keep your relationship at your own pace.
it was almost as if you and sunghoon had just magically gotten along when you first met him. but, really, you didn't mind not making your relationship with him public at all. in fact, it might've been the better choice.
in public, you were rarely seen together—but in private, he was the person you spent the most time with. this little relationship of yours didn't even have a label—all you knew was that you guys were more than friends. in all seriousness though, you were curious. maybe you'd stay at this stage forever, or maybe it could turn into something completely different.
now, you were on a walk with him, debating whether or not to say what was going on through your mind. you stared out into the distance—clouds were streaked across the sky as the sun slowly set, creating a swirl of colors. you glanced over at his face, not wanting to disturb how calm he was at this very moment. ultimately, you decided to just say it. it was better that way, wasn't it?
"hoon," you started, the nickname just slipping out of your mouth. "can i ask you something?"
"ask me anything." he replied, patiently waiting for you to say what had been on your mind for the past few days.
"what are we?" you asked, the question leaving your lips before you even noticed.
"well, it depends," he slipped his hand into yours, shifting his gaze from the sunset to the troubled expression on your face. "we can be whatever you want us to be."
