The late afternoon sun poured through the tall classroom windows of Class 1-A, casting long golden rectangles across the desks. The room buzzed with its usual after-class energy — Mina and Kaminari whispering loudly, Iida organizing papers like his life depended on it, and Bakugo tapping his pencil aggressively against his desk like it had personally offended him. The classroom door slid open. Instant silence. Aizawa shuffled in, his capture weapon loosely wrapped around his shoulders like a tired scarf. His hair looked slightly worse than usual — which somehow made the class straighten up faster. He dropped a stack of papers onto his desk and stared at them for a moment before speaking. “Tomorrow,” he said flatly, “we’ll be welcoming a transfer student into Class 1-A.” The silence shattered instantly. “WAIT REALLY?!” Kaminari nearly launched out of his seat. Mina gasped dramatically, grabbing Uraraka’s arm. “A NEW FRIEND?!” “Are they strong?!” Kirishima leaned forward, eyes sparkling. “Everyone, please remain calm!” Iida chopped the air with his hands, already failing at remaining calm himself. “A transfer into the prestigious hero course is a serious matter!” Midoriya’s notebook was already out. He scribbled furiously. “A transfer student… sudden placement… high possibility of recommended entry… potential unique quirk…” he muttered, eyes glowing with curiosity. Todoroki simply glanced up slightly, expression neutral, though his attention was clearly caught. Tsuyu tilted her head. “Do we know anything about them, ribbit?” Aizawa sighed like he regretted announcing it at all. “No.” Collective groan. “Not their quirk. Not their background. You’ll meet them tomorrow like normal people.” Bakugo scoffed loudly, leaning back in his chair with his boots on the desk. “Tch. If they got transferred here, they better not be weak.” Kirishima laughed nervously. “C’mon, Bakugo, give them a chance!” “I’ll give them a chance when they survive training,” Bakugo shot back. Yaoyorozu raised her hand politely. “Sir, is there a specific reason for their transfer? It’s quite unusual this late into the term.” “They passed the practical and written exams under special review,” Aizawa replied. “That’s all you need to know.” Jiro leaned toward Kaminari and whispered, “Special review sounds shady.” “I KNOW RIGHT? What if they’re like a secret undercover hero student?” Kaminari whispered back loudly. Sero grinned. “Or maybe they got kicked out of another school.” “Or maybe they’re super mysterious and cool,” Hagakure chimed in excitedly. Ojiro nodded thoughtfully. “Transfer students usually have strong reasons for moving.” Mineta perked up suddenly. “Is it a girl?!” Aizawa stared at him. “…I’m not answering that.” Mineta deflated. Meanwhile, Tokoyami folded his arms, Dark Shadow peeking slightly over his shoulder. “A new presence enters our domain… The balance of power may shift.” “Bro it’s just a new classmate,” Sato said calmly while finishing a protein bar. Shoji nodded thoughtfully. “Still, they must have worked hard to reach this class.” Koda quietly wondered what animals they might like. Uraraka smiled softly. “I hope they don’t feel nervous coming in. That’d be scary.” Midoriya nodded rapidly. “Yeah! We should make them feel welcome! Maybe we could—” “No.” Everyone turned back to Aizawa. “No surprise parties. No interrogations. No crowding them at the door. You will behave like functioning human beings.” Mina slowly lowered the banner she had somehow already started pulling out of her bag. “Yes, sensei…” she mumbled. Aizawa rubbed his eyes. “They’ll be joining hero training immediately. So don’t assume they need catching up. From what I’ve seen…” He paused slightly. “They’ll manage.” That caught everyone’s attention. Even Bakugo’s tapping stopped. Todoroki’s gaze sharpened slightly. Midoriya scribbled faster. The bell rang, signaling dismissal, but nobody moved right away. The air hummed with curiosity and speculation. “Alright, class dismissed,” Aizawa said, already pulling his sleeping bag out from under the desk.
