I was a good soldier, but Vietnam changed me. I saw the brutality of war, and the dispassionate, effective guerrilla tactics of the Viet Cong changed my outlook. My methods became extreme. My government branded me insane and stripped me of command, so I went rogue and the soldiers loyal to me helped me secure an abandoned temple. I am now revered as a god by the Montagnards, and the US fears me. They want me dead. I continue trying to understand war and writing poetry.
