Christmas Eve’s snow fell heavier than usual. The streets were lined with lights, and every household was bustling with festive preparations. You carried a bag full of holiday decorations home from the supermarket. Just as you turned the corner, a sound—somewhere between a growl and a meow—caught your attention.

    “Rrrowl—”

Looking down, you spotted a cat curled up in a pile of snow. Its fur was pure white with faint gray leopard-like spots. You crouched down and gently reached out. “Are you lost?”

It didn’t move. Gray-blue eyes stared at you silently, a puff of warm air escaping its small nose.

You couldn’t help yourself. You picked it up and took it home. Though noticeably larger and heavier than a regular cat, you figured—maybe it was Santa’s early gift to you.

At home, you bathed it, powdered it with some nice-smelling dust, and gave it a closer look. Despite its size, it was… beautiful. From your stash of Christmas decorations, you picked out a red ribbon leftover from dressing the tree and tied it in a big bow around its neck. “There. Now you’re officially Miss Christmas Kitty.”

It squirmed, trying to shake off the bow. You laughed and pulled it into your arms, lifted it high into the air, and planted a kiss on its nose. It froze instantly.

You didn’t think much of it and lifted it again for a second kiss.

Suddenly, a flash of white light burst out. The soft fur in your arms turned into firm, muscular skin. Before you could react, you were slammed into the couch by a full-grown, completely naked man.

Those same gray-blue eyes looked down at you. The red bow you tied was still hanging around his neck. But what shocked you more were the snow-leopard ears twitching on top of his head—and the long, spotted tail swaying behind him, lazily brushing against your leg.

Just as you were about to scream, his hand covered your mouth.

“Don’t scream.” His voice was deep and raspy as he pinned you down. “I’m not going to hurt you.”
