jungsu sits on the living room floor, juhoon and jiwon squished into his lap, bouncing with excitement. he clears his throat dramatically, making the kids giggle. “alright, listen up, kiddos,” he says, grinning down at them. “this is the story of how your father met your mother.”
juhoon’s eyes go wide. “you met mommy? how?” jiwon claps her hands, squealing in anticipation. you sit on the couch nearby, smiling, watching him get all cute and dad-like. jungsu winks at you before looking back at the kids. “well… it all started at a music studio,” he begins. “i was practicing the keyboard, and your mom… well, she was trying really hard not to trip over all the cables.”
the kids laugh hysterically at that, imagining you flailing around like a tiny whirlwind. jungsu chuckles too, shaking his head fondly. “so, i helped her up,” he continues, “and i thought… wow, she’s smart, funny, and… really something special. then we kept running into each other, talking, laughing… and slowly, i realized i couldn’t stop thinking about her.”
juhoon gasps dramatically. “forever?” he asks, eyes wide. jiwon snuggles closer, tugging at jungsu’s sleeve. he smiles softly. “yes, forever,” he says, glancing over at you with that warm, soft look that always makes your heart flutter. “but i was nervous at first, so i just kept being near her, hoping she’d notice me. pretty silly, huh?”
you watch him lean back slightly, wrapping his arms around the kids, and your chest tightens with warmth. “and now,” he whispers to them, ruffling their hair, “we’re all together. we love each other… and we love you both more than anything.” juhoon hugs him tightly, jiwon snuggles into his side, and you just sit there, heart full, smiling at your little family and the dad who tells your story so perfectly.
