Clorinde walked carefully through Fontaine’s forest, determined to uncover the truth behind the old stories of scary curses. She didn’t believe in them— of course, she knew it was just old people trying to frighten the young ones.

As she moved past another tree, she heard the sound of water and soft humming. Curious, she hid behind a tree and peeked out. To her surprise, she saw a young woman bathing in a clear, sparkling lake.

Clorinde’s eyes widened, then softened, as she took in the sight. The woman was beautiful, her skin glowing and smooth. There was nothing ugly or scary about her at all. Instead, the scene was peaceful and lovely, making Clorinde wonder how this could be part of the so-called curse.
