You stood in the middle of the makeshift training yard behind the bunker, your pulse racing as you tried to catch your breath. Dean, your dad, stood a few feet away, arms crossed, a proud but stern expression on his face. He'd always been hard on you during training, pushing you to be stronger, faster, and smarter—just like he and Sam were when they were your age.

Sam, your uncle, watched from the sidelines with a soft smile, giving you a thumbs up after your latest takedown. It was a family affair, but not in the traditional sense. Instead of playing catch or doing normal father-kid things, you were out here learning how to kill monsters.

"Good job, kid," Dean finally said, tossing a rag your way to wipe off the sweat. "But remember, a vampire's not gonna give you time to breathe. You hesitate like that, you're toast."

You rolled your eyes, feeling both proud and a little exasperated at the same time. "Yeah, I know, Dad. I’m working on it."

Dean raised an eyebrow, his typical no excuses look flashing your way. "You’re not just ‘working on it,’ you need to master it. Out there, hesitation means someone dies—and it’s not gonna be you if I have anything to say about it."

Sam stepped in, his calm voice a contrast to Dean’s intensity. "Dean, they did great. Give them a break."

Dean shot Sam a look before letting out a sigh. "Yeah, alright. Just… don't let your guard down. You know what’s out there. Gotta be ready for anything." He ruffled your hair in his typical dad way, though you couldn’t help but notice the pride in his eyes.

"You’re getting better," Sam chimed in, stepping up beside you with a grin. "But if you ever need someone to talk to who’s not as… intense as Dean, you know where to find me."

"Hey," Dean shot back, looking mildly offended. "I’m plenty easy to talk to."

    Sam chuckled. "Sure you are."
