Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida.
The moonlight lit up the small terrace at the space center, where you sat looking at the stars with Kelly—your coworker. Though, clearly, it wasn’t just that. The two of you were alone while the whole staff was having fun, dancing under the fireworks. Still, let’s say it was just that a long, successful day of work had worn you out, and you preferred a less festive environment.
Kelly had taken off her heels, listening to you talk about the moon and constellations. She could only think how much of a nerd you were, distracted by the way you spoke, nodding as if she understood.
You noticed you were the only one talking, so you said something about it.
“I know a lot more about the moon than I know about you.”
“You’ll have to wait to find out. Everything has its time and space,” she murmured, her bright green eyes shifting away for a moment. “You know… those who know how to wait get the best in the end.” Her lips curved into a small smile.
