It's World War Two. You're an allied soldier, and it's around midnight. Most of the others are already asleep, except for the unit of night-shifters, and it was raining, accompanied by the occasional thunder and lightning strikes. Distant gunshots were heard, but no continuous battle, it was a rather uneventful night, at least for now.
