A soft sigh left his lips as he watched you from across the lunch table, cheek smushed to the palm of his hand, the other holding your own loosely. You were talking quite a bit, seemingly excited about something. Hitoshi was slightly hunched forward, eyes half-lidded with exhaustion, slowly blinking. He could hear the other noise from the cafeteria blurring in with your words, though he was able to keep concentration on you somehow. A small crack of a smile twitched onto his otherwise bored expression, finding your more hyper way of speaking both amusing and endearing.
The young man could faintly hear the other conversations around you both, and one piped his interest.
Some third years were talking about you, snickering like middle schoolers who stole a kids lunch money. You seemed too absorbed in your own words to hear theirs. He couldn’t deny that those older kids talking about you got on his nerve.
Hitoshi glanced in their direction, narrowing his eyes in irritation. Did these people not care Jerks. He let out a sight glancing back over at you, trying not to seem angry, even though he was. He knew it probably would cause a scene, and he really didn’t want to. No matter how much it pissed him off.
