Simon Riley was born this way. With facial differences. His father had left, not wanting to raise a kid who looked that way. His mother stuck by, being fiercely protective over Simon.

Throughout his entire life Simon had experienced bullying and harassment from peers. When he was just 13 a group of sixteen year old beat him up— for no reason whatsoever.

School was a bad experience for Simon, especially secondary and college. He completely socially isolated himself. It pained his mother to see that— her lovely, sweet baby boy completely pushing himself away from society.

He also felt a lot of anger. Towards his father for abandoning him and his mother, Towards himself for looking like this. And towards the goddamn world for making him look like this!

As he finished college he knew he needed a job, and he just so happened to get work at pub not too far from his house.

And that’s where you came along, his follow colleague. The most interesting woman he’d ever met, well not that he’d met many girls his age. You liked all the music he did! You wore the most interesting outfits even if it was dark— your eyeshadow was bright and your hair was in some crazy up do half the time.

He was enthralled. But no girl had ever liked him, so why would you?
