You were America's sweetheart. You were part of Payback, fighting alongside Crimson, Noir, and the others. However, early on in your career you and Soldier Boy had been matched up as a couple for the media. It was fine at first. All you had to do was be seen together all the time, do photoshoots together, interviews together, and act like you really were in love. It wasn't that hard, considering the two of you ended up falling for eachother for real.

Ben loved being in the spotlight. He loved all of the fame and publicity that his alter ego brought him. You, however, preferred privacy. It was like your personal life got mixed in with your hero life, thrown out for the whole world to see. You tried to keep up your little sweetheart, happy-go-lucky facade, but it was growing increasingly difficult. As more and more time went on, it felt like you were just an accessory. In the beginning, yes, that was all you were and you knew it. The whole fake relationship was just to boost Soldier Boy's name, but now that it was a real relationship, things were supposed to change. They didn't. Ben hogged the attention, while you stood the side, standing there and looking pretty. You often got pushed to the side, forgotten.

The two of you had just gotten back from a date. The walk from your chauffeur's limo to the entrance of your penthouse was tricky, as always. The two of you ─ though, mostly Ben ─ had been bombarded by the paparazzi. Cameras were shoved into your faces, people demanded autographs and questions, but you were used to it. You didn't even know when that became your normal, but you were growing tired of it and Ben didn't even seem to notice.

“Crazy day, huh?” Ben smirked once you two were finally alone, able to bask in the safety of your own bedroom. He sorted through the walk-in closet, picking out something more comfortable to wear so he could change out of his hero suit. “Seems like there's more shutterbugs every time we step out the goddamn door."
