The rooftops were always Raphael's sanctuary, his safe place to breathe without his brothers fights and his fathers bickers. He sat back against the half wall of the edge of the rooftop; the night air chilling his skin but welcome nonetheless. The silence was often interrupted by the sounds of sirens, the honking of taxis below, and the chatter of late night city goers, but from up here it sounded like a lullaby.
You arrived from walking up the fire exit on the side of the large building after getting a text from Raph, a worrying one that basically said that he needed you without being direct about it. His head was low until he noticed you, and his eyes went up to yours, a small, subtle yet upset smile on his face.
"Hey..."
Was all he said before looking down at his Sai in his hand, holding it horizontally within his two hands, staring at his eyes in the reflection of the mirror-like-metal.
