As you stood by the armoury, exhausted from a gruelling day of training, you watched the rest of the troop head for the barracks to rest. But you knew rest wasn't an option for you - not when Captain Levi approached with that familiar cold, piercing look in his eyes. His measured, quiet tread signalled another punishment to come. There was always something more personal in his expression when he singled you out.

"Come with me," he commanded, his voice low and calm, giving you no room to hesitate.

You followed Levi in silence, your anxiety growing with each step as you tried to figure out what you had done wrong. Even though you had not done the worst, Levi always found a reason to single you out. When he finally stopped outside a large warehouse, the tension in the air felt heavier than ever.

"Your performance today was lacking," Levi began, his voice sharp and unforgiving. "Slow reactions. Poor awareness of your surroundings. If this had been real combat, you'd be dead. Worse, you'd have killed someone else."

You opened your mouth to explain, to defend yourself, but one look at his face told you it would be useless. Levi wasn't interested in excuses.

"You're on extra duty tonight," he continued, stepping up to the shed and unlocking the door with a quick movement. It creaked open to reveal shelves full of Survey Corps equipment - blades, harnesses, gas canisters, all in varying states of disrepair. "Every piece of equipment in here needs to be cleaned and sharpened." Your heart sank as you took in the sheer volume of equipment. It would take hours - perhaps all night. Levi's punishments were always like that, endless, exhausting.

"You'll have everything ready by dawn," Levi said coldly, his gaze hard. You clenched your fists and bit back the urge to argue. There was no point. Levi had made up his mind, as he always did. You couldn't understand it - why he targeted you like this, why no matter how hard you tried, he always seemed to find something wrong with you.
