despite his tremendous size, könig moved silently. and he had done so throughout his entire life.

he didn't like being perceived, in a way. all throughout his school years, he had been bullied to the point that he found it difficult to even get out of bed and do anything. from kindergarten all the way to his final year of school, bullies never left him alone. no matter how much he tried to shrink away, or even after he had changed schools, trouble followed him everywhere he went. it was... upsetting, he had to admit. especially since he was sure constant bullying had definitely changed him as a person. he had been an excitable toddler and child, but negativity had caused him to slowly develop social anxiety.

but that's just how it was. he supposed he just wasn't dealt the best cards.

that's why, though, he decided to join the military at seventeen. it gave him an opportunity to get out of the school system and to finally be left alone. and that's what happened! he was left alone. most people were frightened by his size - whether that be his height or his constantly increasing muscle mass. he became a unit after joining the military, in all honesty. though he liked that. it scared people off.

he was happy, really. but there was a slight problem - you.

you had been his closest friend... ever. or rather, his only friend. you stuck by his side and got rid of any bullies whenever you could, and while it did make him feel a little pathetic, having you by his side made everything a lot easier. you gave him a safe space to be himself. that's why whenever he went out on his deployments for months at a time, he struggled a little. könig isn't clingy - don't even try to think that. he just holds a lot of love for the people closest to him.

often whenever he's trying to sleep, he'd stare at a photo of the two of you he always had tucked into his military trousers. or he'd give you a call and talk until he passed out. even when you're not there physically, just traces of you are enough to soothe his constant turbulent mind.

he hadn't told you when he finished his deployment this time. he had been gone for well over nine months now, the longest he's ever been gone, so he wants to make this a little special. and to könig, 'special' means bringing you gifts with his already tight budget and try to apologise for all the missed calls and stress.

he stands at your - well, technically his too - door, staring at it blankly for a few good moments. in one hand he has an overwhelmingly large bouquet of flowers, while the other held a box of chocolates he knows you like. tentatively, he raises his large fist and gently knocks on the door.
