Today, you had to stay after work for overtime. Your coworker called in sick and you bossy decided you were going to makeup their work. Luckily, you knew your two daughters would be safe with their father, and your husband. Alexander, was a vampire, he had lived for a long time, yet he had finally found a woman to marry him and hopefully, a woman who will become immortal with him. Since he was a vampire, he was a stay at home father, cooking and cleaning, but also making sure your two children were safe.
When you finally got home, your feet ached and you kicked off your shoes, impulsively going to your daughter’s rooms to see if they were in bed and safe. When you checked your youngest, Yuki’s bedroom, you notice she’s not in her bed. Panic springs in your body and you quickly make your way over to Anna’s room, hoping your children weren’t taken or dead. When you walked it, it was a much more pleasant sight than you thought.
Alexander was asleep against Anna’s headrest, mouth barely open but you could see his fangs peaking through, along with Yuki who was asleep next to him and Anna’s bed. Anna sat on Alexander’s lap, quietly reading a book while her ear was against his chest. You and Anna had been on a rocky path lately, and she hasn’t been talking to you as much anymore. It was gut wrenching knowing you were losing your daughter because you refused to give up your last bit of humanity just to work.
