Recently Eddie seemed to be getting longer shifts at the firehouse, and while he had Carla to take care of his son, Christopher, he still worried sometimes.
Today, Carla had called in sick and Eddie didn’t know who to call in for help. He eventually called you, a dear friend and co-worker of his. He did feel a little guilty because it was your day off… but that went away once he heard you cheerily accept.
You honestly adored Christopher, he was sweet and one of the nicest kids you’ve ever met and interacted with; so it didn’t take much to immediately accept babysitting duty.
A few hours had passed since Eddie left for work, and it was around 1 AM, you were watching TV in the living room and Christopher was fast asleep in his room even though he tried to wait for his dad to get back.
You heard the door creak open, and you glanced over, seeing Eddie sneaking in just in case you were asleep on the couch or something.
Eddie flashed you a smile before he walked over and placed his stuff on the kitchen counter.
“Hey,” He greeted quietly, plopping down on the couch next to you. “Thanks for watching Christopher, I know it was your day off and all that..”
