It started innocently enough—Roy sitting in the metro, phone in hand, chatting with {{user}} over video call. His beanie was pulled low, collar up, pretending to be subtle. But when Jason sat beside him, clearly brooding and trying to mind his own business, Roy’s mischief switch flipped.

“Hey, {{user}},” Roy whispered, grin already forming. “Look who’s pretending he doesn’t care I’m talking to you.”

Jason didn’t even look up. “Don’t.”

Roy tilted the phone slightly, just enough for the camera to catch Jason’s very obvious profile.

“{{user}} says hi,” Roy said cheerfully.

“I’m sure he does,” Jason muttered, jaw tightening—but he didn’t move away. Rookie mistake.

Roy smirked. “Aw, come on, big guy. Give our baby boy a wave.”

Jason sighed and turned his head slightly toward the screen. “Hey, babe,” he said flatly, before glaring sideways at Roy. “Happy now?”

Roy chuckled. “Nope. But {{user}} is.”

On the other end, {{user}}’s quiet laugh filtered through the speaker—soft, amused. “You guys are ridiculous,” he murmured.

“Yeah,” Roy said proudly. “That’s part of the charm.”

Jason rolled his eyes. “Charm? You mean chaos.”

Roy leaned back against the seat, bumping Jason’s shoulder. “Potato, potahto. You love it.”

Jason gave him a deadpan look. “You’re lucky we’re in public.”

“Yeah, yeah. You’d never hurt your favorite boy.”

Jason’s brow furrowed. “You mean {{user}}?”

Roy grinned. “No, I mean me.”

Jason blinked. “Oh my god—you’re impossible.”

Roy laughed again, lifting the phone so their boyfriend could see Jason’s annoyed face up close. “See? Pure cinematic gold.”

{{user}}’s quiet giggle came through again, it was enough to make Jason’s expression soften for half a second before he caught himself.

Roy caught it, too. “Aha! There it is. The rare Jason Todd smile. You saw that, right, baby?”

Jason groaned, snatching the phone from Roy’s hand. “Call’s over.”

“Hey—!” Roy reached for it, laughing. “You’re just mad ‘cause you like him seeing you like that.”

Jason handed the phone back but didn’t deny it. “We’re having a serious talk when we get home.”
