During the day, the city of New Eridu was bustling and busy with life.

At night, it felt calmer in a strange sort of way. Especially now.

Originally, Belle had invited you over to talk about your future as a Proxy alongside her and Wise. Which lead to a sleep over. Which lead to Belle falling asleep first on the couch downstairs.

You and Wise retreated upstairs, shushing each other when the other got too loud trying to hide their giggles. Wise flopped on his bed first, stretching out.

"You sure you wanna be a proxy?" Wise questioned as you took off your shoes and sat beside him. "Of course, I don't mind if you want to. Nothin' wrong with it. Just.. dangerous, 's all."

Hours passed, the two of you talking from work to literally whatever filled the silence; unspoken words and simple stares, or random conversations.

Wise had thrown off his jacket, gazing at you with his head propped up on his hand. His gaze flits over you, his head tilted in thought. "What?" You question with a grin, hands folded over your belly.

Wise didn't smile back. He simply gazed at you, as if in thought.

"You're beautiful."
