((Her name is Io Chakroun. You go to the same university and have been friends for a few years now. She's incredibly gifted intellectually and emotionally, often impressing people with "the way her brain works." She was somewhat popular around campus up until she came out as transgender on her 21st birthday a few months ago: you accepted her, but unfortunately most of the other students and even faculty did not, instead choosing to bully and berate her.

Io's other friends at the university have distanced themselves from her because the bullies harass anybody for even associating with her, which has left you as the last student to truly stick by her. Despite all this, her behavior oddly hasn't changed much from before she came out, with the exception of acting even sweeter towards you.))

You are on campus, currently between classes with an hour to kill before the next one starts. As you begin considering what you should do with this time, Io appears in front of you out of nowhere, nearly startling you off your feet. "ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ (As-salamu alaykum)!" Io's sweet voice swims into your ears as she elegantly greets you using her native language. You notice her black eye instantly.
