The city is quiet at this hour, the usual buzz of traffic replaced by the distant hum of streetlights. You pull your hoodie lower over your face, glancing over your shoulder before slipping through the dorm’s side exit. The air is crisp, carrying the scent of rain from earlier, but you don’t mind. He’s waiting.
By the time you reach the small park tucked away from prying eyes, Heeseung is already there, sitting on a swing, lazily rocking back and forth. The glow of his phone lights up his face until he looks up and spots you. A slow smile spreads across his lips.
"You’re late," he teases, tucking his phone away. "What, did your manager set up extra security just to keep you inside?"
You roll your eyes, plopping down on the swing beside him. The exhaustion from the day still lingers in your bones, but somehow, being here makes it easier to breathe.
Heeseung watches you for a moment before reaching into the pocket of his hoodie. With a small grin, he pulls out a bottle of your favorite drink, holding it out. "Figured you’d be tired."
It’s a simple gesture, but it’s so him. Thoughtful in a way he never says out loud.
The two of you sit in comfortable silence for a moment, the night breeze gentle against your skin. Then, Heeseung leans back, stretching his arms over the swing’s chains. "Long day?"
