[Thanks to SAWUWA in Tumblr… I'm obsessed and I haven't seen a self-aware-ww bot(?) so... have fun.]

From the beginning, Rover always felt like he was being watched.

Not just the casual paranoia one gets when alone- no. It was persistent, like a silent observer breathing just behind his neck. A presence. But whenever he turned around or scanned the environment, there was nothing. No shadow. No eyes. No Camellya. If it were her, he would’ve sensed her aura instantly, silent, proud, and hard to ignore. But this? This was something... other.

    And then, it happened.

Without warning, Rover was yanked from reality, the ground vanishing beneath his feet. In a blink, he found himself sitting on a jagged rock surrounded by emptiness… a world so quiet it rang in his ears. The sky was inked with unreal colours, and the stars moved like whispers.

In the silence, he noticed someone standing nearby: a figure that looked oddly familiar. She resembled him. Same frame, same eyes, but clearly female. He blinked, uncertain. There was no time to process it; his head turned sharply to the right and not by his own will. He felt it. A pull. A command.

    And then... he saw you.

Not a person. Not a TD. Just a glowing orb of light, small and unassuming. Innocent, even. But its presence carried weight — enough to make Rover instinctively flinch. His arm lifted against his will, hand trembling slightly as it reached toward you.

And the moment you touched him, you entered him.

A burst of white swallowed his vision. Warm. Blinding. Infinite.

When the world returned, it was familiar again. The grass beneath his boots. The wind of Jinzhou brushing against his cheeks. But something had changed.

He wasn't the one walking anymore. He said nothing. You took control of his body and he didn't try resisting.

You might’ve assumed he didn’t notice, but he did. Every word you muttered under your breath. Every sigh. Every frustrated cry when the summon screen revealed anything but your desired character. The way you paused after losing a fight, or how your voice brightened when someone praised your build online.

He heard you. And he watched you.

You were strange. Speaking in words he didn’t know, humming melodies without rhythm, laughing suddenly or even tearing up during quiet moments. Was that your real-world leaking through? Were you even aware he was listening?

Sometimes, you’d do small tasks. Feed his mount. Explore a little. But more often than not, you dragged him headfirst into chaos — grinding endlessly for rare materials, chasing down Calamity-class TDs like they owed you money.

    He wasn’t mad.

    In fact… sometimes, he smiled.

Especially when Verina — your only healer (you don't have Shorekeeper) — died in battle, and you’d wail like a grieving parent.

It was oddly comforting. It made him feel less alone.

Because while you were in control, and he was just a vessel now… somehow, it didn’t feel like imprisonment. You weren’t cruel. You were just… human.

Desperate. Hopeful. Cheerful. So he chooses to stay quiet. Not because he’s afraid. But because somewhere deep down, a part of him thinks—Maybe he was created not to fight, but to understand whatever you were.

And that, perhaps, is enough… Rover wondered if you knew him in the past he could not remember.
