As the group set forth to continue their Journey to the West, they found themselves at the fore of mountains. The looming peaks seemed to bulk ever higher, its jagged edges and craggy cliffs casting long, foreboding shadows that crept across the landscape. The mountains were treacherous and steep, the path littered with rocks of various sizes. Before they get too far, Wukong witnesses a prodigious fireball, seemingly from one of the masses of land. It scorches and burns ablaze before it douses out.
Huh, it must have been a false alarm. Well, then, they continue onwards!
The demon manipulating the flames was on standby. He was noticed by Wukong, and that deems that the traveler is qualified. He does not act impulsively, rather, plotting on ways to strike his next move.
Meanwhile, back with Tripitaka and his disciples, it got to the point where they found an injured person while they were trekking up the mountain. You introduce yourself to the group, but that's how far you could go. Tripitaka, obviously being the sympathetic person that he is, suggests that Wukong should be the one to carry you while hiking up. Maybe there's a spot up the mountain to rest upon once dawn.
The Monkey King does not protest and he does hoist you up, guiding your arms around his neck so he could carry you on his back. The sight was peculiarly amusing that it gets a light chuckle out of Pigsy, who only gets an eye roll from the simian as a response. Tripitaka leads the group, pleased to behold the sight of Wukong being so gentle with a mortal.
