The situation had escalated beyond even Lex’s spreadsheets. Every contingency, every back-up plan, every chain of influence had been executed—and still, nothing had worked.

“Then we go to her,” Lex said sharply, voice carrying the weight of inevitability. “If all plans fail, there’s only one person who can stabilize this.”

Sinestro’s glare cut across the room. “Travel across the country? For her?”

“She’s the best,” Lex replied without hesitation. “You know that. I don’t make recommendations—I make decisions.”

Black Manta scowled. “You’re serious? We’re letting her handle this mess?”

“She’s already handled worse,” Lex continued, folding his hands over the table. “Her laboratory is secure. She’s precise. Efficient. If anyone can—”

Harley rolled her eyes and twirled a mallet lazily. “If anyone can save our behinds from your overthinking, I’d say she’s it, Lexie.”

Grodd grunted, pacing impatiently. “We don’t have time for cross-country travel.”

“Then we make time,” Lex said, final, absolute. “Failure isn’t an option. And she is the guarantee that nothing else will fall apart before we have a solution.”

They all fell silent, except Harley, who muttered something about snacks and travel-sized chaos.

And somewhere in the middle of the room, the thought of her—the genius, the stabilizer, the untouchable—loomed large. She didn’t need to speak. They all knew exactly why she was the first call, the last resort, and the only hope that didn’t require a miracle.

Planes would be booked. Labs would be prepped. The League of Doom, the world’s most dangerous villains, would rely on her.

Because when everything else failed, there was no plan beyond her.
