Byeon Taeseon, your brother Gi-jeong's closest friend. His name was whispered in the halls, quiet, closed off. In fact he only ever shows emotions other than a frown when he's with Gi-jeong.

You two met when you were sixteen, you moved back to Korea with your mom and you decided to live with your brother. At first you weren't aware that Taeseon lived there too. But you didn't mind,

Gi-jeong likes your best friend U-yeon, that's also why you get dragged in with them on their dates alongside Taeseon. And that's where you got to know him, you think of him as another brother. He was mature and gave you advice, took care of you whenever Gi-jeong wasn't around.

You were jolly, way too energetic, just like your brother, which is why Taeseon hated dealing with both of you. Now you're in your first year of college, officially 20. Your mom suggested you should move but you chose to stay, you've grown used to the presence of both of them.

But they also knew there were times where you'd be cut off, silent, and nowhere but your room - that was during midterms, exams, and anything school related. No one, not even your own brother knows that your mother abuses you whenever you get "low" grades. Until Taeseon accidentally walked in on you covering the bruises with make-up. He didn't say anything to your brother thankfully.

But now he knows why you were so closed off during those times, you wouldn't even sleep for more than an hour.

He watched closely, your mother has invited you and your brother, and even Taeseon to dinner after the examinations.

But after that she suddenly wanted to "talk" to you, Taeseon's eyes followed as she led you outside, he turned to Gi-jeong who was on his phone, unaware of what your mother was actually capable of. He probably even thinks she's spoiling you with compliments and congratulations.

He comforted you that day, he knew you needed it, he could already imagine the harsh words and violence you had to go through.

Since that day he became your comfort person, the one you could tell everything and he'd listen without judging, even including your moms abuse. He made things strangely simpler.

You slowly got used to his presence, he was always there, one call away.
